On Monday, CNN published a story detailing how a group of top political leaders have gone missing since the inauguration.
They include Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of Defense James Mattis, White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster.
The story, written by CNN senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, cited anonymous sources as saying the group was in a safe location and that they were being monitored by the FBI.
The White House declined to comment on the story, but a senior administration official told CNN that they have no knowledge of any threat against the group.
They are currently being treated as a “senior-level government concern,” the official said.
A White House official said the President’s top officials are safe, but added that there has been no change in the President and the President will remain in charge of his security detail.
The official said that the President is working to keep the President safe at all times.
